USA womens national soccer team just won the FIFA womens world cup. They absolutely kicked ass in every way- on and off the field. And most expecially, they’ve kicked DT’s ass, at least in rhetoric.
just listened to an interview on Democracy Now (now that i think of it, a glorious beacon of truth in women’s rights issues) with two brilliant women talk about the importance of what happened with the women’s national soccer team this weekend and women’s issues in general.
As these two scholars said, it is so amazing and powerful to see these women soccer players standing up and fighting for their RIGHTS. And not just their own- they are using their platform to connect all the issues that effect women from all backgrounds and classes.
There can never be a fair and just society anywhere on Earth so long as women are not equally compensated for the same work as men.
There can never be a fair and just society anywhere on Earth so long as the basic human rights for women are not honored and carried out in full- access to healthcare, education, food, shelter, water….
It will take much continued fighting to accomplish what these brave women have set out to do. and it is up to us, the revolutionaries of the working classes, to uphold their work- their words- and to do all we can to spread truthful information about these issues that effect all people but most especially women, and to organize in a way in which the brave deeds of these comrades will not be made in vain.
