19th of September 2016- Apartheid, Racism, Slavery- Alive and Well.

A short introduction video to the Palestinian/Israel conflict.

Another day here in California. Away from the genocide, the destruction, and Apartheid taking place in the middle east (all with the consent of my countrymen and government.)

It sure is a drag. which weighs down on me every single day.

It is 2016 and what civilization has fought for so long to expel, things such as racism and genocide, apartheid, discrimination, war- are all today thriving.

The bombs are still dropping. The drones are still striking. The corporations are still pulling the strings of the puppet politicians. The masses are still hypnotized in every aspect of their lives.

Will any of this ever change? What can stop this super power government from funding more brutal occupation?

Idk where im going with this. But It is something I need to express.

Update

Disclaimer: (post is full of personal bias and my own perspective)

Bernie sanders wins Indiana primary. If he can become the democratic nominee, then he would definitely win over trump in the final election.

There are simply too many right minded people to vote Trump into office.

Well, at least I hope so.

Hilary and Bernie are neck and neck- Hilary with the support of the mega-rich, upper class and upper middle class, and Bernie with the “millennials” and more liberal Americans. this has been a very “entertaining” election, perhaps the most so in the last two decades.

And how does this concern me? Well, i personally believe having anyone but Bernie would be catastrophic.

Hilary- Aside from her unquestionable allegiance to Israel, she has many flaws that stand out to me. Her warmongering approach, her disconnect with the vast majority of Americans.

Trump- Racist.

Bernie- Not perfect. But hes at least pointing this massive ship towards the shores of real progress.

Well, I am going to be writing more.

Goodnight.

Orange County- Leonard Peltier Defense Group Startup

I am going to do my best to share Leonard’s story here in southern California.

If you have never heard of Leonard Peltier he is the living symbol of Native American’s here in the US- persecuted, entrapped, targeted, forgotten (by the country who destroyed his people.)

Some people are so discouraged to even take the first steps in achieving a goal, afraid that they will come up short and be disappointed. You have to at least try.

I am receiving a petition package in the mail soon for people to sign around my community who wish to see Leonard freed.

If you live in the Orange County Area please reach out! contact me via wordpress or by email at carrillo.bryan12@gmail.com

In the spirit of Crazy Horse

Hello Orange County!

1-4-16

Today is Monday and its the first Monday of the new year! People are scurrying off to work and getting used to being on the grind again!

As for me, I sit at home looking for a job over the internet.

I’m a broke, no-job-having ass fool. But hey, I can still speak to people around the world via WordPress right?

I don’t know what I am getting at. I start school in about a month. Hopefully only have one more semester at Fullerton College, a junior college very close to the Cal State Fullerton.

This is the winter time blues alright. my cat just died. that really sucked. here’s a picture of him: Ludwig_2015.JPG

Right now in the news, uhm, well there is a lot going on.

One ‘trending’ story is the so-called patriots that are occupying a federal building in washington. thats garnering a lot of attention.

Saudi Arabia just executed 47 people in one day. Iranians stormed the Saudi embassy and basically burned it down.

Well, I will keep scouring the internet for news and relevant information for your life.

Follow my blog! I typically write about the Southern California area, events, artists, music, skateboarding especially.

Take it easy guys.

Open Letter To The Leaders of Santa Clara County, CA

I read this morning on The Intercept about a recently filed class action lawsuit against the Santa Clara Sheriff Department by the Berkeley-based Prison Law Office.

I decided to write to the council and mayor, Jamie L Mathews, of the city of Santa Clara, deploring the actions of the correctional officers of the Santa Clara County prison system. (they responded and told me to contact the sheriff department. Well, at least now they are aware of the situation, and if they don’t do anything they may be blamed for what the sheriff dept is doing.)

Here is my open letter:

My name is Brian Carrillo and I am a resident of Southern California.

I have recently read about a class action lawsuit involving the Santa Clara Sheriff Department and inmates of California jails who are forced into solitary confinement cells.

These inmates often get less than 3 hours outside of these cells A WEEK. I highly deplore these actions taken by Santa Clara’s Sheriff and I ask that Mayor Jamie L Mathews of the City of Santa Clara address this problem by condemning the use of solitary confinement when it is not absolutely necessary.

This should not be happening anywhere in the world, let alone a place like California and Santa Clara County.

These men who are put into solitary confinement do not pose any serious threat to jail staff and the psychological damage this is inflicting upon them is inhumane. These conditions are similar to the concentration camps of Nazi Germany, where prisoners are forced to coexist with vermin, sleep in the feces of other inmates, and have little to no communication with loved ones.

I hope you seriously consider what I have written to you today and I look forward to seeing the progress made by the leaders of Santa Clara County in the near future in regard to how nonviolent criminals are treated in our correctional facilities here in California.

Sincerely,

Brian Carrillo

I suggest readers take a look at the articles written by The Intercept regarding this case and the conditions of inmates of California jails who are forced into solitary confinement.

This Week- Monday Dec 6th

Southern California– Today in the news; more on the two killers in San Bernardino.

They are both Muslims. This is HUGE. do you have any idea of what kind of impact this is going to have on public perceptions of Islam in the US?

How long has it been, really, since we have associated terrorism with Islam, since 9/11?

Well, since then, Americans have increasingly begun to place all Muslim’s into one category; capable of causing great harm and destruction.

Why? because an extremely small portion of the over 1 billion Muslims on this planet have claimed that their acts of terrorism are religiously motivated.

Which, for those who cannot disseminate between radicalized, violent individuals and followers of one of the five major world religions, equals:

all Muslims are somehow connected to terrorism, are extremists and are more likely than any other ethic group or religious group of committing acts of terror.

And you see, the events in San Bernardino, “only confirm this.” it reinforces this stupid yet wide-held belief.

It is my opinion that this is all a ploy.

whose ploy, you ask.

Well, the ploy of those who can gain from this division and isolation of Muslims. Maybe, perhaps, those with an interest to interject themselves into the middle east, home and heart of “the Muslim people.”

Perhaps a minority group being labeled terrorists allows said group to be targeted as the root of our suffering, and their extermination the path to our peace.

More on this later.

Irvine Great Park- Now Thats A Cool Project!

I played soccer at the new OC Great Park in Irvine this past Tuesday (Thanks to the really cool MeetUp app) and it was awesome!

Its being built on the old El Toro Marine Corps Air Station- and it is going to use all 1,300 acres of the old land (Twice the size of Manhattans’ Central Park.)

Going there now you will see that the land in every direction is being worked on in someway. As for the parts that are finished, they look amazing.

I recommend checking it out in the near future, when more of it is complete and you can actually get a grasp of how big the place is.

Also, if you like soccer, download the meet up app and find the group that meets in Irvine once a week.
